Beginner Comedy introduces kids to the world of improvisation. Improvisation fosters the skills that kids need to navigate everyday life. Students will learn the building blocks of communication through improv foundations like “yes, and” agreement, active listening, expressing emotion, using their imaginations, and working as a team to develop a story together! Students will learn character development, emotional commitment, and work as an ensemble. The course will end with a teacher guided improv show!
$395 for 10 classes (2 hours each) and 1 Performance

Intermediate Comedy will build on the skills cultivated in Beginner Comedy. Students will utilize their “who, what, and where” improv skills from Beginner to build longer, more creatively fulfilling scenes. Then, we will use the material we devise in these scenes to start creating scripted content. This class is perfect for students with a desire to write, film, and edit sketches for their friends and family, as well as harness their natural creativity in a more permanent form than traditional improv.
